No Size Limit!

Fredrik Faye ( / ) received great feedback on his lectures in GRP / Composites where one of the key points where HighComp`s track record related to large tanks in GRP / Composite.

“Having produced hundreds of tanks for postsmolt and grow-out- facilities around the world – the biggest tank being 30.000 m3 – it is important for us to challenge the notion that only concrete works for larger constructions, says Fredrik Faye”

GRP / Composite has the advantage of having an extreme strength to weight ratio – hence why they are used in giant windmills and aviation.

With the seismic, wind and snow- loads that Island can encounter, a flexible but extremely strong material will absorb the load-case better than any other material – when the constructions are large.

With regards to price, Fredrik said that the GRP tanks increase their competitiveness, the larger they get. This might be surprising to some of our potential clients in Iceland who view composite / GRP as an alternative – for only the smaller tanks.

Following our exciting participation at the Aqua-Ice exhibition in Reykjavik, we want to highlight the key takeaways from our lecture on tanks and roofs:

✅ Significantly shorter construction time for our clients
✅ Approx. 50% lower CO2 footprint than concrete
✅ 50+ years design life with no maintenance
..and more.
